Quick Start Guide

Outlining the preliminary essential steps for setup and initial operation:

Please review and follow all safety and maintenance procedures outlined in the user’s manual prior to operating any VYKIN machinery.

Prior to crushing any material:

  • 1. All tanks come bone dry, please fill: (1) hydraulic oil tank (>90-100%); (2) diesel fuel tank; (3) DEF tank; (4) engine coolant tank; and (5) all grease points.
  • 2. Please check the type of material and make sure it is a non-hazardous waste material.
  • 3. Make sure the crusher you are using has enough power to process the material’s hardness.
    • The VYKIN 90 is ideal for processing all kinds of material — including: concrete, asphalt, limestone, granite, basalt, river rock, virgin stone, etc.
  • 4. There is an initial break-in period: (1) please check all bolts, lock nuts, pins fittings, and connections every 3-4 hours for first week; (2) filter / replace the hydraulic and engine oil after first 50 hours (page 57 in manual).

The VYKIN 90 accepts materials between 16 to 17 inches in size — with an output adjustable down to 1 3/16” of an inch.

If crushing reinforced concrete, ensure there are NO long pieces of rebar sticking out of the concrete to avoid a piece getting caught at the bottom of the jaw and ripping the conveyor belt. You MUST cut any visible rebar that protruding or sticking out of your concrete.

Manual feeder stop switch is located besides the hopper, on the maintenance platform.

Jaw speed between 300 – 360 RPM (330 is average, but 350 is a decent speed to deliver high impact as well).

Feeder speed is usually at 5 notch (but reduce to your material feed flow as necessary).

Battery powers the water dust suppression system and the magnetic cross belt (iron remover). You must turn off the battery after shutting down your crusher to avoid draining the battery and likewise jump-starting due to dead battery.

How to Unload

Wireless remote is found in the back panel besides the engine.

Please be advised your crusher & crate of spare parts are on a flat rack (see photo below for reference).

To unload your machine from the semi-truck — the spare parts box would need either a (1) 8 or 10 ton forklift, or a (2) skid steer with forklift attachment with appropriate weight lifting capacity; and while your crusher can move using the wireless remote it will still need either a (3) portable loading ramp, or a (4) loading dock (or makeshift one built works also). Loading clearance from ground to bottom of truck is about 4′ to 4.5′ typically.

How to Start, Adjust Output, and More

PLEASE NOTE: Warning! Do NOT turn off the main power supply when the red indicator light is still on. You must wait for the exhaust gas treatment system to pump DEF solution into the urea/DEF tank.

Page 46-47 in manual for changing output size:

  • Each turn is about about 1/4″ (0.25 of an inch / 6mm).
    • Clockwise turns opens the jaw, larger output;
    • Counterclockwise closes the jaws, smaller output.
  • Tools of the trade: to quickly measure the output size of jaws, throw in a few balls of tinfoil (or a empty beer can; credit goes to Brad) whatever you have available (just make sure you drink it empty first before you throw it in!) and measure the thickness crushed down to.

Grizzly Bars: Closing off grizzly bars to let small rock bypass into crushing chamber (ie: if have significant undersize of <2″):

  • Dimensions: L x W x Thickness; 29.5” x 35” x 2/5” or ½” (750mm x 890mm x 12/10mm)
    • Cut fabric screen and bolt onto grizzly (ie: ¾” screen)
    • Or, locally cut steel plate to size and cover grizzly.

Check the flywheel belt tension monthly. You should be able to push down on the belts just enough to get an inch or so of flex on single banded belt units (or fit a finger or two through the gap on units with individual belts).

NEVER run the jaws if you hear them hitting each other or any other metal-on-metal clanking. Severe damage to the machine can occur.

Before the start of each shift, you need to do the prepatory work before starting. This should primarily be focused on re-tightening any bolts, nuts, and other connections — and lubricating all grease points.

8.0 Maintenance Schedule

* 8.1 Be sure to grease the jaw bearings and housing daily before operation.
* 8.1 Be sure to grease the jaw bearings, jaw housing, and all other daily before operation.
* 8.2 Check for loosened bolts on frame and jaw brackets weekly.
* 8.3 Check rubber skirting integrity around conveyor weekly.
* 8.4 Check wheel lug nuts for tightness weekly.
* 8.5 Check fly wheel belt tension monthly. You should be able to push down on the belts just enough to fit a finger or two through the gap on units with individual belts, an inch or so of flex on single banded belt units.
* 8.6 Check the conveyor belt tension monthly. The belt should not be slipping while running under load.
* 8.7 Check the gear oil in the conveyor belt drive roller every 6 months. Rotate port to 9 or 3 o’clock and fill to that level.
* 8.8 Check the grease port on the jaw motor every six months. 10-15 pumps of grease should be sufficient.
* 8.9 Check the vibration motor foundation integrity every six months and be sure the bolts are tight.

Troubleshooting:

  • Battery is dead and need to jump-start my crusher.
    • When shutting down your crusher, make sure both power supply switches are turned off (main power under control panel & backup power in back cabin found left of engine; pull switches up to turn off power); on control panel place iron remover switch to the neutral / off position; remove battery connectors from from water pump (if used / applicable); turn off engine ignition key on control panel and remove keys.
